This is a resource I use for students that require Travel Training sessions. In order to develop transferable skills, students are required to plan journeys on public transport. This resource is a scenario where students can plan a trip to their local Odeon cinema. You just need to add the appropriate info (street names etc.) for your local area! It gives advice to students of things they need to consider when planning their journey. It also encourages budgeting skills.

Art and Design Curriculum Year Plan (I create a year plan first, to plan my year out before completing my Scheme of Learning). I like how you can see the whole year on one page :) The Year Plan can be put at the front of each students’ folder and the student can see where they’re up to too, ideal for SEN students who like to know what’s coming next! This Year Plan is for the academic year 2023-2024 and is easily adapted to suit your curriculum needs. The art curriculum incorporates a broad art curriculum of drawing, painting, collage, photography, sculpture and printing. It includes Equality & Diversity (E&D) opportunities and functional skills; as well as embedded NOCN Art course criteria (Art Appreciation, Painting, Drawing etc.) Suitable for Entry Level 1 to Level 2 students.

Perfect for both Entry Level 3 and Level 1 students, including SEN students. A quick matching task, where students have to match the computer port to the cable. Can be easily adapted to a lesson starter/used for substitute teaching. There is also a 16 slide full teaching PowerPoint to teach EDSQ (Essential Digital Skills Qualification) Unit 1 - Using Devices - Demonstrate how to set up a basic computer system. It is a practical session where students learn how to set up a computer system.

A Scheme of Work Year Plan (year overview) for the ICT/Computing Essential Digital Skills Qualification (EDSQ) for Entry Level 3 & Level 1. The year plan uses the Pearson curriculum specification (although can easily be adapted to suit other awarding bodies such as NOCN or OCN). Starting the academic year 2024-2025. Useful as a guide when creating your schemes of work or can be put at the front of students’ folders to chart progress. Ideal for SEN students, the course curriculum is spaced out through the year to allow plenty of time for completion and repeat assessments if needed. It covers all five units: Using Devices and Handling Information Creating and Editing Communicating Transacting Being Safe and Responsible Online.

This resource can be used for students that require Rarpa (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement); it is linked to the PfA (Preparing for Adulthood) goals/target - Independent Living Skills. Where students get to choose which independent living goal they would like and then state how they can work towards this, either in lessons or in tutorial.

I use this resource for students completing the EDSQ Essential Digital Skills Qualification. ICT/IT tutors or learning support assistants can write a witness statement to provide evidence for students portfolios, when students have demonstrated practical ICT/IT skills for their EDSQ course.

At the beginning of the year, the students state what their IT/ICT EHCP goal is and how they will achieve it in sessions. This goal is then reviewed again half way through the year and again at the end of the year to measure progress and achievement. (See accompanying EHCP goal review sheet.)

Students are asked to name 5 different operating systems and provide evidence of User Interfaces. Perfect for SEN Entry Level 1 and above.
